Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Adelaide, then drive to Barossa
Morning flight to Adelaide.
Upon arrival at Adelaide Airport, pick up your rental car, then drive to Barossa (80km).
Day 2: Barossa (Breakfast)
Barossa is one of the world’s best wine regions. With over 80 cellar doors to visit, you’ll never be short of somewhere to taste Australia’s most famous reds, whites and sparklings.
Drive to Mengler Hill Look Out, best view over a sweeping landscape of rustic vineyards, traditional farmhouses and wineries.
Then drive to Barossa Valley Cheese Co, we will participate in Cheese & Wine flight experience, learn the art of cheese and wine pairing at cheese cellar.
Lunch at Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop, it offers tasting and sales of her full product range including limited edition seasonal produce.
In the afternoon visit Penfolds, join a ‘Make Your Own Blend’ tour- after an introduction to varietals and blending you test your skills and blend a wine to take home.
You can also visit wineries like Tow Hands, Seppeltsfield, St Hugo and Jacob’s Creek.
Day 3: Barossa – Hahndorf – Victor Harbour (Breakfast)
After breakfast, travel south to Victor Harbour (145 km). Stop at Whispering Wall near Williamstown to marvel at this acoustic phenomenon.
Spend time in the historic village of Hahndorf, Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement. Stroll the tree-lined main street and taste the traditional German food at famous Hahndorf Inn.
Continue your drive south to Victor Harbour, a popular coastal resort town and a great place to watch Southern Right whales in winter.
Day 4: Victor Harbour – Cape Jervis – Kangaroo Island (Breakfast)
Take a short stroll or horse tram ride over the wooden causeway that connects the mainland at Victor Harbour to Granite Island Recreation Park.
Enjoy the coastal scenery and discover the island’s interesting history along the Kaiki Walk. You may even spot a Southern right whale between June and October. Southern right wales visit Encounter Bay each winter, when they find the local waters to be warmer than their summering grounds in the sub-Antarctic.
After lunch drive to Cape Jervis to board a ferry to Kangaroo Island, known for its diversity and abundance of wildlife. Echidnas, koalas, kangaroos and wallabies are frequently found, providing a remarkable close-up wildlife experience.
Ferry will take 45 minutes to arrive Penneshaw in the island.
Day 5: Kangaroo Island (Breakfast)
After breakfast, drive to Seal Bay Conservation Park, join a 45 minutes guided walking tour down to the beach ensure the closest possible encounter with the sea lions. This is a truly wildlife experience not to be missed, access to the boardwalk also included so you are able to see everything Seal Bay has to offer.
Then visit to the Vivonne Bay, voted one of Australia’s most beautiful beaches for its clear water, cleanliness and privacy.
The island also produces wonderful foods and products including honey from the world’s only pure Ligurian bees, eucalyptus oil and wine. Make sure to visit some local farms as well.
Day 6: Kangaroo Island – Cape Jervis – Adelaide (Breakfast)
After breakfast drive back to Penneshaw to board the ferry back to Cape Jervis. After 45 minutes ferry trip, drive to Adelaide (100 km).
Upon arrival in Adelaide, head to North Terrace to experience one of richest cultural boulevards in Australia, visit to the South Australia Museum, home to an opalised plesiosaur and the world’s largest collection of Aboriginal artefacts. Other places to visit include the Art Gallery of South Australia, the Migration Museum, Adelaide Botanic Garden and National Wine Centre of Australia; Or Catch a tram to Glenelg to enjoy the beach and sunset.
Day 7: Adelaide depart (Breakfast)
Drive back to Adelaide Airport, return your car before fly back home or next destination.
